It rained?!

I did sneak an hour mtb ride in on Wednesday evening.  And evening it was.  I didn't finish till after 9 and it was still light out!  I mostly went as Thursday was looking to be a wash out.  We desperately need the rain so I was fine with that.

Thursday morning it was on and off again sprinkling.  I kept checking the weather and radar as the predictions kept changing.  I decided I had a two hour window to ride and went for it.  But this time is was with Jen on the tandem, Salsa Powderkeg.

We hit up the race track for a couple laps and moved on down county road 8, taking the side roads along Long Lake.  We did a tour of Hidden Island park and made our way for home.  The entire time we figured we would be getting wet as the westward sky was looking pretty dark.  As we pulled into the driveway it started to sprinkle, timing!  We put in just over 20 miles.  Good times.

The rain never materialized till much later.  In fact the sun came out for a good part of the day!  Finally around 4 the rain started.  So much for an all day soaker.

The alarm this morning seemed to come too early and I paused again to see if I should just roll over.  I already did that this week so it's go time.
Taking the Cutthroat north. Wet Benton County gravel calls for big tires.
