The Heat is On.

Monday before work I got out for an hour on the MTB.  A lap at the race track and a lap at the North Loop.  After work I went out on the MTB again.  A few laps on the race track and the "spring/sport" loop the North Loop before I met up with Jen and Harper at the trailhead. The older girls were off for their first day of summer gymnastics.

The Salsa Cycles Timberjack 24" with suspension is such a game changer for Harper.  She's able to go up and over curbs and tackle most of the root sections with little issues.  We did have a few crashes and bloody knees but hey, it's mountain biking!

When we got to the bridge section I made her walk it first to see if she wanted to try it.  With a smile she said yes.  Jen wasn't too excited!
No problem!

We had a great time in the woods.  Glad we got out as the heat is on the past two days.  Yesterday I was up out riding before 5:45.  The wind really never let down much but it wasn't too bad.  I did a version of the Dirt Bag with some variations on the back side of the route.
The ride on the Seven Evergreen.

The wind and temp today is basically identical to yesterday.  I'd planned on riding again but on the Cutthroat.  But when it was time to get up I wasn't feeling it.  I wanted more sleep and maybe a day off from riding.  Thursday is looking stormy at the moment so if that holds true throughout the day maybe I'll do a night ride tonight.  Into the wind and oppressive heat!
