The Heat is Coming!

Saturday may have been the most "summer" day yet.  Blue skies, hot, and not much wind...a great day to be at a lake.  Jen's folks have a cabin about an hour north of us.  The plan was to spend the day there.  The family drove while I biked.  The most direct route is 60 some miles I think. I usually stretch it out for 100 but this time I kept it mostly direct as I was planning on biking home as well.  I arrived with 75 miles.

The Freedhem 76 was scheduled for Saturday but with Covid-19 it turned to an "on your own" event.  On my way up I came across a few riders.  With the cabin not being to far from the course I followed the tire tracks some and found some great roads.

Around 5:30 I kitted back up and made the trek back home.  While there wasn't much wind it was there and this time a head wind.  I have never been to the town (if you can call it that) of Freedhem, so I made a point of finding that on my way home.  As such I traveled on a bunch of new roads for me.  While hot and humid it was great being out.
Ended with 77 miles.

Sunday some friends had planned on doing the Freedhem route, but at noon.  I wanted to be done riding by then to be with the family and at home.  So I headed out on my own in the morning, getting back home at 11:30.  Just in time for pancakes!

The rest of the day was a bit lazy but fun.  We finally got some much needed rain. Not sure on how much yet but I'm sure we need more.  It was still wet and sprinkling at 5 this morning so I reset the alarm. I may or may not ride this afternoon...go with the flow.

It's looking like a good week to loser water weight...Hot and Humid!

Drink fluids and ride your bike.
