Back to Darwin.

Thursday was looking to be a great day in the weather department. Light winds out of the south, mostly sunny, and warm. Maybe a touch too warm but I'll take it, for now.  Come August I'll start complaining of the heat!

I opted for the Evergreen once again.  I have some new wheels I'm testing (yep my first test wheels!) and they are on the Evergreen. I also swapped out the saddle for the Bontrager Aeolus saddle.  So far I really like it.

The wind was mostly south but a bit SW which was enough for me to head to Darwin and the Ball of Twine. Jim got me to sign up for Wandrer.earth. It takes all your Strava rides and lays them out on a map.  The goal is to get as many "new" roads as you can.  There is a point system that ranks you against others.  I don't care too much about that I just like the map of the places I've ridden or haven't ridden.  Because of this I opted for a bit more circuitous route. Which turned out pretty dang fun. I managed over 13 miles of new roads.

The temperature was creeping up and I was sucking down fluids. I ended up having to stop two times to top off the hydration pack.  My kit and myself looked like a salt lick when I was done.

The Ride.

Once home I showered, grabbed a tall water, and headed out to water the plants. Zero rain in a long time and it missed us last night.  I know it's just watering but standing in the sun for over an hour after a long ride sure seemed tough. Tells me we have too many plants!  We don't water our grass, it appears to be dead or dormant...good!
