After work Jen, Harper, and I went mountain biking, like last Monday. Maybe a tradition? I headed out first to get a lap or so in before meeting them at the trailhead. From last week the progress Harper has made is amazing! Much less crashing and faster. She's figuring out how to navigate the roots.
Tuesday morning my alarm went off at 4:45. I couldn't do it. Sunday night some neighbors were lighting off fireworks till sometime past 11. Getting me 5 hours of sleep. I needed some more going into Tuesday. Through out the day I wasn't even sure if I'd ride that afternoon. It was a north wind again and I didn't really want to do the same thing. I was tempted to lay around when I got home but I made myself go out, even if for just a short ride. I told Jen 3 hours at the most when I left.
Once I hit Benton County gravel the wind picked up, perfect. A rain cell was moving in, bringing some wind with it. Not wanting to get wet I pushed further north than planned in attempts to avoid the rain. It worked! By now I made my way out of the hell that is Benton County gravel into Morrison County, ahhh. I pushed on so I could enjoy the fruits of my labor. I was having fun!
Next thing I know I hit highway 27, which runs between Pierz and Little Falls. I went a bit further north to avoid 27 and made my way west to Little Falls. Going to be longer than 3 hours.
The Ride.
I haven't done any afternoon into evening rides yet this year. Last nights ride made me kind of miss it. At least the riding in the dark part, which was at the tail end. I alway have rear lights but neglected to bring any headlights. Had I, I would have pushed on a bit more. What a great ride.
Heading out this morning for some mountain biking. I haven't been to Plum Creek in sometime and the club did some work last week there. Time to go check it out.
