I started out doing the front part of the Dirt Bag. Rain appeared to be moving in so I jumped off course and pushed further South. It may as well have rained. I was absolutely soaked with sweat. At the end my shoes were even wet. Nasty. The dew point was higher than the Gulf of Texas and Florida. Nuts.
Wet!
The Ride.
Early Sunday morning, around 3, a storm rolled through. Similar to Saturday I didn't get out till 10 or so. I didn't think it could be any more thick than Saturday but the first couple hours were amazingly nasty. I was pretty much soaked by Rice, an hour in. Eventually the sun came out and stated to burn off some of the humidity. The NW wind started to blow in some cooler, dryer air. Finally! But damn can I sweat!
The Ride.
V8 and potato chips make for an excellent recovery meal after hot rides! My new favorite. Well, really anything salty. After both Saturday and Sunday I took the bike to the backyard and hosed it off, washing the sweat away. I decide I needed to mow so after I stopped sweating I headed back out to mow and get my sweat on once again. The family had gone to my folks cabin for a quick trip so I waited for them to get home before heading off to bed.
Not sure how morning rides will go for the next few weeks. Toby is a puppy so needs constant attention. If I get up early, he'll want to get up, waking everyone else up. We'll see how it goes. I'm coming off two solid weeks of riding so maybe a lower mileage week is on tap?
Of course the week is looking gorgeous so maybe that'll be out the window?!
