And Darkness comes Quickly.

Tuesday morning I planned to ride before work.  Toby wanted to get up about an hour earlier than I did.  After letting him out and feeding him I debated what to do: get ready to ride or go back to bed.  A look at the weather showed it was 14 degrees.  Not wanting to deal with the cold I opted to go back to bed.  I rarely, if ever, can fall back asleep.  This time I did for an hour+!

The plan was to ride after work.  I headed out on the Cutthroat down County Road 8.  Having ridden the Mukluk exclusively the past several days the Cuttroat felt weird at first.  Plus the legs were taking a long time to come around.  While there was a headwind it wasn't bad but County Road 8 was a struggle. Once I hit gravel I was able to hide from the wind.  Plus the legs were coming around.

The open roads are clear and dry.  The gravel roads in areas with tree cover have a bunch of ice.  Those areas were taken with care.  No crashes!  While having more time than if I rode in the morning I kept the route the same as to not be out all night.  So I did the mini Dirt Bag.

I'm still getting used to the sun setting so early.

The Ride with no speed records.

Today is Harper's last day of in school learning till, at least, January 4th.  Once she's on the bus I'll jump on the Mukluk and bop around on the SE trails for a couple hours.  Tomorrow is looking nice.  Excited to get a longer ride in!
