Per usual I laid in bad a bit after my alarm went off wondering if Toby would want to head downstairs. I could ride in the afternoon and roll over. Toby had other ideas so we both got up.
The previous night I put some proper pogies, Revelate Expedition, on the Krampus in anticipation of the ride and much cooler weather. While not the coldest I've been in I think it was for this year. Still getting accustomed to the chill.
I started with a few laps at the Race Track. My plan was to hit up Sand Prairie but as I was heading up The Wall I decided to head down County Road 8 to Island View Park. Again, that park is small and nothing special but is another place to bop around on.
The Mississippi River at Island View. As far as I know it never fully freezes over here but it's trying.
After Island View it was back up 8 to parts of the North Loop and Friedrich Park. I rode across a Quarry, cautiously as I don't have studs on this bike, so the ice is good! Later in the day I heard Chris H. rode the cross over from Friedrich to the North Loop. One of my favorite little sections of trail. Mostly because in can really change the order of things.
The Ride. Yep, cold enough to be watch season.
I'm in awe how much I love riding the Krampus. It's such a fun bike. Plus it's still relatively new so everything is tight and smooth. Combined with the Whisky Milhouse bars and it's an absolute blast. I'm pleasantly surprised how much I like the bike and bars. I will say I've been spoiled with Onyx hubs so I am missing those on this bike.
Mid week already! Christmas will be here too damn soon.
Let is snow!!!
