Up North Single Track.

With some kid shuttle help I was able to make it up to Cuyuna yesterday.  After Harper got on the bus I loaded up the van and headed North.  I watched the temperature drop the closer I got to Cuyuna.  At the start of my ride it was -18.  There wasn't much wind, I was in the woods, and the sun was out.  All of which helps stay warm.  In fact I was comfortable the whole ride.

The trails were in great shape.  They hadn't been recently groomed but it was still riding very well.  It did have that center rut thing going on but that doesn't bother me.  That's, in my opinion, a part of riding groomed single track.

Atop one of the climbs.

Because of the cold and during the week I seemingly had the place to myself and some ice fisher people.  Near the end of my ride I did see a couple more riders show up.  I was having a really good time and feeling good as well.  Time seemed to fly by. I wish I had some more time but I had to leave to get Harper from Kid Stop.  Not before stopping at Red Raven for some coffee, a scone, and a new cap.

The ride.  The temp is a bit off. As my Garmin Tempe sensor was sitting in the sun a bit before the pic.  But it did warm up throughout the day.

They cancelled school yesterday for today, due to predicted cold.  It's currently -16 with a feels like of -28.  The temp is supposed to drop a few more degrees with the wind picking up some as well.  I'm getting ready for a ride, ha!

Stay warm this weekend!
