Back to warmth and skinny tires.

Monday I hit up Sand Prairie and parts of the North Loop for which most likely will be the last of the season.  Go figure, both were riding very well!  Nonetheless I'm ready to move on from fat biking.  Which I did on Tuesday.

I didn't head out till 9, you know, giving the wind time to get up to speed!  The wind was whipping out of the SW.  Because it was the first warm day since our two snowfalls I knew I'd be mostly on pavement.  I took a route that I knew would have good roads with wide shoulders.  Man that wind was brutal at times.  Slight inclines, going into the wind made single speeding tough.  My plan was 4-5 hours but as I neared a point that I would need to turn around to get that time I opted to go on a bit more.  Well a bit more got me close to Darwin.  When one is close to Darwin one must go to Darwin.

I didn't need to refuel food or water so I just rode through and made my way home.  Tailwind!  Both on the way to Darwin and home I did hit sections of gravel.  For the most part it's a mess.  Maybe today but most likely Thursday on gravel should be good.

Onyx Hubs in their element.

The ride.

Most likely taking today of from riding.  It's been 29 days since my last day off.  That being said, most rides were 2-3 hours on the fat bike.  My excuses are it below freezing so the melted snow is now ice.  I don't have studded tires on the All City.  But I could ride and it's kind of eating me up, ha!  Man I have issues!

Happy mid week.
