A 3 Hour Tour...

Ouch. Yesterday I was able to get out for a morning ski. Thanks to Mike and Kyia for grooming the entire trail system at Graystone. This was the first time that I was the "first" skier on freshly groomed trails. I thought it was great until I realized Mr. Anderson could later that day at scrutinize my technique by the tracks I was leaving...he's the Crocodile Dundee of ski tracking. This made me focus on my technique more than normal!
The conditions were much slower than I anticipated. Some of the hills felt like all out efforts due to the skis and snow not wanting to say goodbye to each other.
I managed to get the 3 hours in that I was hoping for, but by the end I was dragging some major ass. The slow conditions took a lot out of me. All I could think about on the last lap was how far away the car was and how "bonked" I was feeling.
Note: a bigger breakfast is required for an over distance ski!
Loops skied: North Loop (6), Orchard (3 or 4 lost count), and Balto's (2).
Sounds like some more snow is in the forecast. While I am very ready for spring to show up I could definitely get out and ski several more times...as long as the conditions are up to my standards! Hell, I may go out again Friday morning.
Off to the gym...

Out.

It is true, we were analyzing the "push off" and the "glide" of the skiers that had passed before us. However there was a real digger/edger/hacker that passed after you so your in the clear. We think we know who it is...(are you self conscious now?)
