Craving Dirt.

I'm not sure if it's the unseasonably cool temperature, the slight hint of color change in the Maple trees, or the start of school but I've been craving mountain biking a lot lately.  For me Fall is the best time to  mountain bike and with August being more like Fall I've got the itch!
Since Jen and I both worked yesterday (teacher workshops have started for Jen) Jen's mom took the kids for the day and night.  After work Jen went to the gym and I put a leg over my Salsa Deadwood.

I started in the Talahi Woods, then moved on to the River Bluffs, Plum Creek, Friedrich Park, the North Loop, and Sand Prairie.  All are different and fun when put together.  The South and South East side of St. Cloud contain about 90% of the areas mountain bike trails...lucky me since that's my side of town!  I've yet to get "bored" with the North Loop, despite many laps there this year.  Due to construction by the prison we've had to reroute the trail a bit (started last year) so it's still feels a tad "new" to me.
I ended up with about 3 hours, about 15 minutes shy.  I neglected to bring my lights, thinking I wouldn't need them.  But the quickly setting sun sent me home a bit sooner than anticipated.  Yep...seasons are changing!
