StaCation and Dirt.

I have the next few days off from work.  Nothing is really planned I just wanted to hang with the kids a bit before schools starts up next week, finish up the house inventory, chill, ride, etc.

Yesterday afternoon/evening the 3 kids and I hit up Brinna's and Avery's open houses at their respective schools (High School and Middle School...big steps!  Harper's is tonight...kindergarten).  Man navigating a new to us school (Tech High School) that has been around for 100 years and added on to sure is a test of my patience!  Of course our expert (Jen has worked there for 19+ years) was manning her room.  We survived but if I was Brinna I'd bring a GPS.

Speaking of GPS, Garmin has released the new Edge 1030.  Being a consumer I want it!  Mostly because the claimed battery life went from 15 to 20 hours with an option for an external battery (that attaches cleanly to the device) that adds 24 more hours.  Finally!  Longer battery life!  It also has a bit bigger screen which I like, but many don't.  It sounds like the touch screen hasn't changed from the 820 or 1000 though.  I'm a sweater and when I stand up to climb a hill and a drop of sweat falls onto the screen it sometimes changes screens.  For now my 1000 is just fine but I'm sure in the future I'll toss my 1000 to Ted and get a 1030.  Product testing!

Around 8 last night I tossed the lights on the Deadwood and buzzed off to the North Loop.  It was a busy night!  I came across 2 runners on my 2nd lap, saw 2 more bikers later on, and ran into Bob on my 3rd lap and finished it out with him.  Just seeing other lights weaving through the woods was exciting.  May be time to resurrect Monday Night Lights!

Coffee Time!
