Finally...Brrr!

The weather finally warranted me putting on my pogies for last nights ride.  It wasn't crazy cold, in the teens with a feels like temp below zero (yep it was windy...again), but enough that I was glad to have them on.  I opted to leave the studded tires off for the time being.  Really the only areas they would have been nice were side streets.  The trails themselves are just fine without studs.

Because of the wind I opted to bop around on the trails.  I started out at Sand Prairie.  I actually spent a good chunk of time there, 1.5 hours.  At night and in the winter is the best time to ride there.  I'm giving the swamp a few more days to freeze solid before I add that into my loop.

From Sand Prairie I headed to the River Bluffs and Plum Creek.  Some friends cleared trees on Time Waster so I hit that up.  I was also told it went all the way through.  Yeah...more trail!  I did Plum Creek as well but I just don't dig full on single track that much in the winter.  Maybe when we get more snow and we are able to groom it.

On the way home I went through Riverside Park to check out the snow making for Nordic skiing.  Two days in and they have a lot made already.  Wish we could just get the real stuff!
Ended with a bit over 3 hours and 30 miles.

Hitting up a bigger ride today.  Currently it's 5 degrees out!  Bring it!
