An Itch for Summer.

Man I lucked out having Monday off from work.  Top 10 Weather Day!  Sunny skies, minimal winds, and flirting with upper 50's.  I headed out around 8:30 on the Nature Boy.  The plan was to do the Dirt Bag, and I stuck with it, for the most part.  Around midway I ventured further South then the course goes, before looping back around and meeting up with the course again.  Mostly I wanted to ride Keats road but I also wanted to avoid the end section that I ride all the time.

The gravel, more or less, is great.  Some heavily shaded areas still have ice, snow, mud , etc but those are diminishing rapidly.  It's still nice having full coverage fenders on the bike.  We are slotted for an all day rain today so that may help improve conditions.  All depends on the temperature today.

The Ride.

Yesterday I got out after Harper got on the bus.  I'm limited to about 2 hours on workdays so I hit up the Silo Route and came back on Franklin.  When Franklin becomes a minimum maintenance road, about halfway down, it gets a bit gnarly.  Huge ruts, lots of ice, sand, water, and snow.  Kind of fun!

As previously mentioned we are in for some rain today.  If the skies appear to be holding off I'll head out for an hour before heading into work.  If not I'll just head in early and start wrenching.
