Weekend Riding.

I still can't get over this weather we are having for early March!  Both Saturday and Sunday ended in the 50's.  What snow we had is vastly reduced.  My backyard is a bit of a mess, which sucks when your dog loves to play in mud and water.

Saturday was my first ride with others in a very long time.  It was just three of us: Jim, Corey, and I.  We met up at Onyx and headed out for parts of the Dirt Bag.  We only had 3-4 hours so we didn't hit up the full course.  What we did ride was surprisingly good.  Yes there were the occasional icy and/or muddy section but overall it was riding very well.  Especially for early March.  As much as I like riding by myself it sure was great to ride with others.  3.5 hours flew by.  Plus we averaged over 17 mph.  Pretty good on the single speed.

Sunday I worked at the shop so I got out relatively early.  I always find it unfair when it's windy in the early morning.  No wind is one of the rewards for early morning riding!  The wind was already in the double digits when I left.  I did the Silo route with some extra loops tossed in.  Sections where I was full on into the wind were a bit of a hammer fest on the single speed.  But overall I am really loving riding the Nature Boy.  It's perfect for this early season riding.  I can't give the PDW Full Metal Fenders enough praise either.  They are super solid with very little rattling.  I'm sold.

Work has been nuts, but in a good, fun way.  The number of bikes leaving is like last April.  Repair bikes are piling up as well.  Spring has sprung!  I knew we'd run out of bikes but I never thought this soon.  I do have many more on the way.  Just wish it was this week and not scattered about for the next few months.

Happy Monday.
